It’s time for another round of crazy/silly things that Amelia says.  Most people would agree with me, but Miss Amelia is insanely smart.  She cracks me up and amazes me every day with her creativity, vocabulary and intelligence.  These snippets are from the last few weeks…

Mommy: What are you going to be when you grow up?
Amelia: A queen like mommy.  (that’s my girl!)

Amelia’s Halloween costume itched her one day and it completely set her off (we’re talking crazy screaming fit)…to the degree that she didn’t want to wear it that day.  The following day she was talking to Dustin and told him that the “dress itched her breasts.”

Amelia loves to stare at the clouds and find shapes.  Yesterday she was staring at the clouds looking for horses, babies and more.  Then she spotted some dark clouds and said “there are the brown clouds, those are the ones with rain in them.”  CRAZY smart I tell ya!

Earlier in the week I was in the kitchen and Amelia asked for a snack.  I asked her if she could open the fridge and she did.  I was so excited that she was able to open it.  That mean she could get her sippy cup and a piece of cheese if I asked her to. Well, that excitement was short-lived because when I was in the shower 3 minutes later she asked if she could have a snack and I said no.  Well, 2 minutes later she was back in the bathroom with another piece of cheese…that stinker!

Amelia was just telling me that her Aunt Zay has a boo boo on her finger and I said “oh no, how did she get it?”  Amelia responded “we’ll talk about it later.”  Crazy kid!

Last night as we were coming home from running errands we saw our neighbors down the street leaving their house.  They’re an Indian family and all of the ladies were dressed in beautiful Saris.  Amelia saw them and said “hey mommy, they’re all dressed up for Halloween to go trick-or-treating.”  It’s amazing and hilarious how little kids perceive things.

Her laughter…it’s contagious.  Yes, I’m acting like a fool as usual.

And because one isn’t enough.  She has the nerdiest little chuckle.

Juliet turned 4 months today and we started her on solids last night.  We started with rice cereal mixed with breast milk and a bit of bananas.  Both were a huge hit.  She ate a LOT, we’re talking an entire serving of bananas (about 2 Tbsp) and 2 Tbsp of rice cereal.   I didn’t really have to water it down either, she mushed it around, chewed it and swallowed.  This sweet girl likes to eat!

Tonight we had peas and I know what you’re expecting…lots of icky faces.  Here’s a refresher on how big sis responded to her first green veggie (green beans). Ahh…the combover was in full force here.

Now here’s Miss Juliet’s  reaction.

Holy cow, she smiled after her first bite.  Apparently this one is mine, she likes green things!

Hope this makes you smile…I do every time I watch it (or even think of watching it). She cracks herself up looking in the mirror…

And yes, that’s Amelia walking in wearing only a t-shirt and underwear at the end.  We’re klassy like that. ;)

Can’t resist showing more sleepy girl pictures.  She falls asleep anywhere still and I love it. Loves bath time, snuggles and hanging out with Daddy and Amelia.

Juliet is getting more playful and interactive and her big sister is loving every moment of it.  She loves her bouncer, bumbo and play mat.

Juliet is only 3.5 months, but she’s doing so, so much!

On October 15 Juliet started rolling over on her own from her back to her belly.  She saved it and the moment Daddy walked in the door she rolled over.  I got a picture and got it on video because my camera was sitting close by.

She’s rolled from her belly to back a few times, but she hasn’t mastered those skills yet.  We’re hoping that she does soon because she’s in a very frustrating stage where she needs help rolling back over and gets quite cranky when she’s stuck on her belly.  She’s fine tuning her skills, building strength in her neck and doing her best to wiggle all over.  I have a feeling that she’s going to be an early sitter and crawler just like her big sister.

I’ll post the video as soon as I can.

Along with rolling comes tummy sleeping.  There’s just something about a tummy sleeping baby, love it!

I am WAY behind on blogging so here’s a big Juliet update.  My goodness has Juliet grown and changed!  She’s getting so big.  Her weigh in at 2 months had her at 11lbs 10oz and I’m willing to be that she’s in the 13lb range by now.  She’s still smiley, happy and easy-going 99% of the time.  She’s just a big chunk who loves to eat, snuggle and be sung to.

She loves to fall asleep in my arms or next to me, but she also loves being swaddled.  It’s funny because her big sister loathed it.  Juliet will nap well if swaddled and sleeps well at night in her swaddle.  We’re hoping to break her of the habit over the next few weeks, but at the moment it’s working so we’re not willing to break it.  You just can’t have too many sleepy baby pictures…so here are a bunch!

In September at 2 years, 9 months and a few days Amelia finally made it past the 25lb mark, yay!  She’s growing taller each minute, but she’s still very petite.  She’s eating more diverse foods and growing… only up though.  She’s smart and sassy as always. She’s making us nuts a good portion of the time with her tantrums and antics, but the remainder of the time she’s insanely funny and amazes us with her love and intelligence.

Amelia’s hit the “dress phase” of life.  If it’s a dress she’ll likely wear it, if it’s a dress either of her grandmas bought for her then she’ll definitely wear it. This goes for nightgowns too.  They’re her new favorite thing to wear.

Here’s a look at what Amelia’s been up to…

Snuggling with daddy and Juliet before bed.

Brushing Lila with a loaf of bread…the wooden variety.

Sister time, she loves being a big sister and sitting next to Juliet in the bumbo…or in it.

Amelia and Keira had their first sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa.  From what we heard there wasn’t a lot of sleeping going on.  Not sure how soon G&G are going to want to do another sleepover.

Juliet is bathed in the sink, so why not Amelia too?

First sailing adventure with Grandpa.  Amelia was not a fan. She went out for a bit, cried the entire time and was dropped off with Mommy and Aunt Paigey at Kemah.

She liked the train at Kemah a LOT more than sailing.

Amelia loves all things Aggie too.  Make it a dress that Grandma bought and it’s something she’d wear every day if you let her.
