Amelia: (puzzled look)

Mommy: Jesus and Daddy

Amelia: Cheeses and Daddy?

I love my toddler.

I have to brag, I just do.

My kid is a genius.  When I got to MDO to pick her up yesterday they told me that she did the art project all by herself and they were amazed with her.  They said that most kids were just slapping things all over the place and needed help to even get that done.  Amelia sat there quietly and did her project on her own.

Pretty amazing stuff, huh?

not really, I just look like I have one.

I forgot to share this…

When Amelia and I were at the Cape we were snuggling in bed one evening winding down for the night.  She was looking at my arm, at all of my freckles and she started touching them one by one.  She looked up at me and said “Mommy, arm stars.” Clever little monkey.

Amelia did the cutest things yesterday.

We were in her room getting ready for nap time (reading books and playing).  She was trying to get past Dustin to go to her bookcase in the hall for another book.  She stopped and looked at Dustin and said “excuse me daddy” and when he moved his legs she walked past him.

I suppose that being kind and saying those things to each other has rubbed off on her.  YAY!

Later in the day Amelia was sitting on my lap facing me.  She was playing with my face and I was pulling away.  She grabbed me by my cheeks and held my face still, came in close and game me Eskimo kisses.  She made me tear up with her sweet love.

Amelia has learned how to French kiss…no, I’m not meaning real French kissing…kissing on each cheek.  It’s crazy cute to see her do it.

Amelia started MDO today.  She’ll go every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-2:30.  It’s good for her and for Mommy.

She did so well today.  She napped on her mat without any trouble, ate a good lunch, played on the playground and thoroughly enjoyed her first day.

Here she is on her way to class!  Sorry, they’re not the greatest images I was just snapping a few with the P&S.  I had to include a picture of her super cute matching nap mat/lunch box/backpack since they cost me a small forture, but she’s worth it.  Such a big girl!

I recently did a newborn session at my house for a friend.  Amelia was of course there and took it upon herself to climb upon my gear while I was setting up. Deal is that if you climb, you get your picture taken.

You might just see a big fat canvas of this in my house fairly soon.  Most likely the b&w version.

Amelia is learning to like the camera, finally!  She plays games with me when I point it at her.  She starts by staring at me stares at me, she closes her eyes and covers her face, turns away, then she peers back at me and makes some kind of cheesy face and is so very proud of herself.  My cornball…

Amelia is into clothing.  She likes the extremes; lots of layers on or none at all.  I liked lots of unmatching layers on as a kid so I’m certain my parents will love these.  Here’s my fashionista in action…

Just after out trip to the Cape we took Amelia on a trip to the zoo.  We rode the carousel for the first time and she hated it so we stood next to the baboon while we rode in circles.  Amelia loved the animals and we loved watching her learn and explore.  Can’t wait to take her back!

This is way, way, way overdue.  We went to Cape Cod in late July to visit my Gramps and bury my Pop.  We enjoyed time with the family and all of the cousins.  Click here to see the entire gallery.
