The Loftis Family

Amelia’s newest word is yea/yes/yep, but it often comes out sounding like lah or lawp.  We had a few conversations in the tub last night.  Enjoy!

Amelia is a fool, serious glutton for punishment.  She insisted upon having a taste of Daddy’s “dip”…ie: hot salsa.

This is what greets me every morning…a smiling Amelia with really huge hair! She got it from her daddy.

We took Amelia down to Galveston on Saturday to check out the Sandcastle competition and play in the water.  She of course loved it because she could pour sand on herself and then dip her legs to get clean.  We went to visit with friends from my previous job and she of course made a mess of herself so I decided to dip her arms and legs in the water.  She of course decided to sit down and then lay on her belly in her clothes (bathing suit was in the car).  She searched for shells, played in the sand and tried to blow bubbles in the salt water until she realized how bad it tasted.  See the sippy cup addiction?  She even swam with her sippy cup in her mouth.  Crazy kid.

Because she wore her clothes in the water she spent the walk back to the car redneck style – wearing a diaper only.

As usual Amelia had no fear of the water or of making new friends.  I have videos and will post some soon!

Amelia is a freak for water, she just loves it.  We go swimming at mom and dad’s, we went to the beach on Saturday and yesterday we bought a little blow up pool for the backyard so she has more water here to play in.  She runs to the bathtub screaming “BATH” when it’s bath time.  She just loves it!

Amelia was looking pretty shaggy so we took her for a bang trim and to have her mullet trimmed off.  Poor kid has had a comb over and now a mullet…what’s next a bowl cut?  She did really well thanks to the tv and the bubbles they had to entertain her.  The only time she cried was when they put the big cape on her, otherwise she just wiggled and tried to get away.  She looks like such a big girl now!

You know what Amelia’s saying here?  “I’m smiling because I don’t have any pants on…but you can’t tell, can you?”

Amelia is just so adorable.  Dustin was tickling her like crazy last night and she was cackling and wiggling around trying to get away.  I guess it was too much because she finally said “daaaaddy!” crying out for mercy.  I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.
