So, Amelia made a mess of herself during lunch today (what else is new) so I changed her and laid her down for her nap. She didn’t get up to watch me leave…that’s odd for her. About an hour into her nap she was stirring and I just left her for a few to see if she’d go back to sleep, she did.
After sleeping for 2.5 hours I heard her stir and I went in to get her. She was still laying down, but awake. I thought it was crazy that she wasn’t standing waiting for me. I went to pick her up and realized why she wasn’t standing…I had put both of her legs through the same hole on her jean shorts (jorts)…I had “mermaided” my child.
Is it bad that I really liked the fact that she couldn’t get up? I know that’s awful, but she went to sleep faster and with less of a fight, perhaps I should sew all of her jammie legs together.

Amelia has never been a fantastic napper. She won’t give in and nap when she’s tired, she’ll fight it to the very end. Lately instead of falling to sleep laying down she’ll continue her present task until she can no longer stay awake, hence the sleepeating. She’ll do in in her high chair and the car…(ignore the goofy mommy talking)
If you listen closely she says “baby” in the video…that’s because she knows that mommy’s cameras have babies in them. Silly girl.

So, about a month ago…yes I am that far behind on blogging. I won a radio contest to go to a private performance at the radio station with Gavin DeGraw and tickets to his show that night.

I will say hey! when Amelia is getting into something she shouldn’t be in. Of course she’s learned how to repeat it. So, everybody say haaay!
Because she makes me laugh. Sorry for the mostly naked baby, we were in the backyard “helping” daddy put Amelia’s new playground together.
