Amelia has discovered the joy that is grandma’s piano and I have no doubt that we’ll soon discover the joy of earplugs. Again sorry for the bad images, we were in the middle of cataloging all of our equipment and I grabbed what was closest and started shooting before her very short attention span shifted.
What a difference 364 days can make. Last year I took Amelia when she was not quite 2 months old to buy tickets for Opening Day and this year at almost 14 months old I took her again.
We’re looking forward to many Astros games and a great season!
She LOVED the big baseballs and just had to get out of the stroller and touch them. Were it not for the rain and the creepy homeless man watching us we would have played with the balls longer. Sorry for the terrible images, they were taken with my cell phone, ahhh…technology.
Grandma Linda loves to buy singing greeting cards for Amelia. This is by far her favorite, it combines the Happy Birthday song and kittens, what could be better?
Please pardon the somewhat hoarse mommy with her bad narration and the mostly out of focus camera work. My newest camera has a video function, but it’s fully manual and this is the first time I’ve used it.
Enjoy!
We had a great family day yesterday. We spent the afternoon at The Children’s Museum of Houston and had our very first family trip to the Houston Zoo. We saw lions, tigers, bears, monkeys and lots of other fuzzy (and smelly) creatures. Amelia loves all things that look like kitties. Although she thought the lions were dog-dogs…probably because Lila is the same color as a lion.
Here are a few from our family fun day.
Amelia pet (petted for those sticklers out there) the goats and chased the chickens in the petting zoo. She ran after the chickens screaming at them, because of course if she screams at them they’ll come closer. No, we didn’t lock her in a cage in the pictures, she was climbing a cage to get to more animals.
The turtle is meaningful to us…it’s where we sat and ate a cherry chill many moons ago on our very first date and it’s where Dustin re-proposed after we had my diamond re-set. We’re sentimental saps and have always looked forward to our first trip to the zoo with a child.
Yes, yes I put my daughter in leggings and a skirt. I like the layered look what can I say? According to my dad she looks like the wicked witch of the east…I guess that’s an endearing look. Oooo…I am editing the original post, but who cares, it’s my site, right? I don’t know if Amelia was being a super sweet Daddy’s girl and running to Dustin in the last one or if she was being a naughty toddler and just running away from mommy. The mommy in me tells me it’s the latter.
