Amelia has discovered the joy that is torturing her puppy and kitties. She calls for them and gets frustrated when they won’t play.
Here’s a short video of Amelia playing with her Spencer kitty. Behold the power of the tail.

Amelia had her 6 month appointment on Friday. She had another round of shots and got a clean bill of health. Here’s a list of her stats over the last 6 months.
I wanted to share some photos from Keira’s 1st Birthday party. The theme was pirates and fairies and she had lots of her friends and cousins over for a pool party. She wore a fairy costume and she had a pirate themed cake made by her grandma. I think she had a great first birthday!
Here are a few pictures from the party.
We had our friends Chris, Laura and their son Collin (10 months) over for dinner on Sunday. It was a great opportunity for us to catch up, but also to let the two little ones meet and play. They reached for each other, talked to each other and I think they’re in love.
Unfortunately they were wiggling too much and mommy didn’t realize that she needed the flash until she looked at the pictures later on. I have a few shots of Collin alone and some of Amelia in the tub getting all prettied up! She’s learned to sit up in her bath tub so I think it’s about time we retire the little tub and use the sink or the big girl tub.
We’re heading to the pediatrician tomorrow for her 6 month check up (6 months, 1 week & 2 days to be exact). I’ll update on her stats when we get back.
Amelia and her cousin Keira share something very neat…half birthdays! Keira was born on June 18 at 3:13pm and Amelia was born December 18 at 2:02pm.
Here are a few photos from Amelia’s half birthday. She explored the grass and plants and sitting/laying on a wooden deck for the first time. As usual I know that we’re done when she releases the screaming demon on me.
I am constantly asked if I put bows or clips in Amelia’s hair and well, yes I do and I did today to humor all of you…emphasis on humor. I think the comb over looks even funnier being tamed by a measly little clip. Her new hair is coming in…lighter and very slowly.
There’s an article in the Houston Chronicle today about how you would sum up your life in 6 words or less. I thought it was a fascinating concept and didn’t know if I’d be able to do it. As you all know I’m quite wordy so this would prove to be quite a feat for me, but alas I found 6 words that sum up my beautiful life.
Happily seeking delight in small things.
When I was in high school I had a teacher who always said ‘don’t sweat the small stuff.’ I never really thought about what she meant when she said that. I guess I do follow the same mantra to a degree. It’s not so much don’t sweat the small stuff for me, it’s savor the small stuff. Savor the moments of peace with your husband after a long day, savor the giggles, savor the cuddles, savor the conversations with friends and family, the kisses and hugs before a loved one departs, savor every moment big and small.
Here’s my challenge to all my friends and family, sum up your life in 6 words or less and share those words with someone you love. Enjoy!

I’m not what some people (depending on their age) refer to as a hippie or a new age mom, basically I’m pretty uncool.
I can’t help but think of the Jefferson’s theme song while writing this post.
Amelia’s Baptism this weekend enabled us to get the three girls together once again. The three girls; Amelia, Keira (my older brother Kevin’s daughter) and Kaitlynn (my Goddaugther/cousin Amee’s little one) got all dolled up for a few photos. Read the rest of this entry »
