1 year ago today our lives changed forever. We learned at 5:15 that morning that we were going to be parents. It’s amazing to reflect upon the things that have changed in one short year and how much remains the same.
We went to Amelia’s first Astros game today, the Home Opener. She was so good and really seemed intrigued by all of the colors, activity and people around her. She’s quite a charmer and got a lot of attention from the other fans and the stadium crew.
I was pregnant all of last baseball season and we planned at that time to have a personalized bat made for our little one for their first Astros game. First stop when we arrived downtown was the gift shop in Union Station to have Amelia’s mini-bat made (see the picture below).
We had a great time and thankfully the Astros WON!!! We’ve been going to Opening Day for many years and we don’t remember the last time we won. The score was 5-3 with all of our runs from home runs (3 solos and 1 2-run home run).
Happy day!
We went to Brazos Bend State Park today in search of bluebonnets, but didn’t find them.
I guess we’ll have to make a trip to the north side of town to take the obligatory photos of Amelia in the bluebonnets. Here are a few photos from our little trek.
We got back on Monday from our first big trip! We went to NY for my goddaughter, Kaitlynn’s Baptism.
The flights were a bit rough at first (Amelia screamed and I was sitting shoulder to shoulder with a strange man trying to nurse my baby, can you say awkward?). We were fine once we settled in. While we were there we visited the firehouse and checked out all of the cool trucks and my uncle’s gear.
Here are a few photos from our trip. Read the rest of this entry »
