More spotting today. It scares us each time it happens, but my doctor has put me on bed rest until I have ‘no color’ for 72 hours. We are praying that things start going smoothly from this point.
Due to some spotting we had an early ultrasound today. We saw the baby for the first time, woo hoo! S/he looks great and is growing right on track, 5 weeks and 3 days. We’ll go for our next ultrasound on Thursday, April 26. The HCG was 9283 today, looks good! Hopefully we’ll see the heartbeat and get more good news.
I’ve resolved to thinking only happy thoughts. I feel great today, I feel so positive and so hopeful. I hope this feeling stays for the next 8 months and that we meet our little miracle in December.
The spotting has returned and it’s making me crazy. My doctor wants me to have an ultrasound but can’t get me in until the 25th at 8:30am. Hopefully next Wednesday we will see a beautiful little baby with a strong heartbeat! We hope to announce that we are expecting next weekend. Dustin’s parents are going through some tough times right now and we hope this happy news will lift their spirits. Melanie’s baby shower is next weekend and we hope to announce it during dinner following her baby shower. We want to be surrounded by our immediate families when we share the news. We can’t wait!
the spotting seems to have stopped and hopefully we are in the clear, I am feeling a bit better.
I started spotting/bleeding last night. Things seem to be getting progressively worse and going downhill. I lost it, cried in Dustin’s arms for a long time and finally fell back asleep. We stayed home from work today so we could go to the doctor’s office for bloodwork. They drew my blood and at exactly 5 weeks my beta was 3555 (up from 310 six days earlier)…the nurse said my numbers looked great, so try not to stress too much…yea right! This is exactly why we haven’t shared the news of our pregnancy yet, we simply can’t handle letting our family and friends down. I’ve been asked to rest as much as possible and hope that the bleeding subsides. It’s touch and go for the time being.
What a wonderful day! I called my dear cousin Amee to chat about her upcoming ‘BIG’ ultrasound and just as we started our standard 3 hour conversation she asked how I was doing and I replied ‘excellent’. I had just been to the doctor and had to share the news. She heard the hesitation in my voice and wondered what I was going to tell her next. Yes, I got to tell Amee that I am going to be a mommy. Dustin and I each chose one person to tell, I chose Amee (my BFF and sister) and he chose his best friend and partner in crime, Aaron.
Amee gave me loads of useful pregnancy info and opened the door to chat about any of my concerns about being pregnant. She is awesome! During this conversation she also asked me to be the Godmother to her child who’s sex we wouldn’t know until the next day…I was confident that it was a girl. I was right, I will be godmother to Kaitlynn Holley Mazurkiewicz…YEA!!!!
It’s Keith’s birthday and it’s so hard not telling him our little secret. I went to the doctor for my first appointment today. They started off with a pregnancy test to confirm my pregnancy and when the nurse entered the room she asked if I’d taken a pregnancy test. My response was something along the lines of ‘yes, I’ve taken two and that one had better say pregnant too.’ Of course it did, she congratulated me and she was officially the first person outside of the two of us to know that we’re expecting. My doctor came in and was just as giddy as I am about my pregnancy; she is just so excited that it happened naturally for us. She did my annual exam and asked me lots of questions about my cycles, the way I was feeling and said that she wanted to do a quick ultrasound to see if the baby was big enough to see. Alas, the baby was too tiny still, but she did see the thickening of my uterine lining which is a really good sign of a healthy pregnancy. They did bloodwork to check my progesterone and HGC levels and will let me know on the 12th what our next steps are…most likely a repeat ultrasound next week. By then we should be able to see the baby and maybe see it’s little heart beating, I can’t wait! YEA…again, I am PREGNANT!
