Juliet is a month already, how the heck did that happen? It seems like she was born just yesterday. She is a dream baby, seriously. I know I should bite my tongue, but she’s pretty darn awesome. I’m praying that she always stays as chill and sweet.
Amelia made me love being a mother, but having two little girls simply makes my heart soar. It’s funny, I probably paint this image that motherhood is all peaches & cream and let me tell you, it’s not. Last night after our “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day” we capped off the evening by cluster feeding the baby which means almost non-stop nursing all evening. It’s a lot of work, but it helps my little one sleep like a log. Just as we were finishing up Juliet cleared the contents of her stomach…down my cleavage. Never in my life did I imagine that I would be pouring vomit out of my bra.
There you have it, there’s your nice not so peaches & cream view of motherhood. Was is gross? Yes. Did I have to immediately shower? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No, it’s not like I was wearing a Dolce&Gabanna gown or anything and well baby vomit is somehow infinitely less gross than grown-up vomit.
Juliet had an un-official weigh-in/height check to celebrate being a month…ie: mommy and daddy did it.
She’s 21.5″ now and a whopping 10lbs 3oz at 5 weeks and 4 days. She’s a CHUNK! Even my OB was shocked at how big she has gotten in less than 6 weeks. She’s gained almost 4lbs since coming home from the hospital. She love, love, loves to eat.
To celebrate being almost 6 weeks Juliet gave me a present, she has slept 5.5-6 hours straight the last two nights. I’m praying that it’s a trend that stays and continues to grow. There’s something about hitting 10lbs, both of my girls started sleeping well as soon as they hit it. It’s a magical number, I promise!
Here are a few pictures of Miss Juliet. Hanging with big sister…
