So, yesterday while Amelia was napping I thought I’d sneak away and take a nice long relaxing shower.  You know the kind where you just stand under the water for 10 minutes not moving and enjoying the silence?  Any mom knows that they’re few and far between.

I washed my hair and decided to deep condition it so I put the conditioner on and let it sit for 5 minutes.  My shower is now about 15-20 minutes long at this point so I decide that I should probably rinse the conditioner and finish up.  I rinsed it and went to grab my hair towel only to realize it wasn’t there.  DARN!  It’s ok I’ll just wash my body and get out and grab a new one.

I pick up the bottle of liquid body soap put a bunch in my hands so I get a good lather.  Instead of washing my body where do I put my hands?  Right smack dab on top of my fresh deeply conditioned head.  DARN IT!!!!  Now I have to rinse a ton of body soap from my hair (which takes forever BTW) and start all over with washing and conditioning my hair.

I finally got all of the body soap out and decide to use Dustin’s shampoo just to make sure all of the icky body soap is out. I reach down to his pump bottles and I pumped out a bunch of what I thought was shampoo and put it on my hair…nope, not shampoo it’s his conditioner.  So now I’ve shampooed, conditioned, body soaped and conditioned my hair.  I am on the verge of screaming at this point…so much for that nice long relaxing shower.  I get the conditioner out of my hair once again and wash it and conditioned it properly and promptly turn the water off so I don’t continue the vicious cycle.

Moral of the story…don’t try to take a long relaxing shower when you’re a pregnant mother, it’s just not worth it.
