Amelia is just so adorable.  Dustin was tickling her like crazy last night and she was cackling and wiggling around trying to get away.  I guess it was too much because she finally said “daaaaddy!” crying out for mercy.  I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.

Later last night we were getting Amelia ready for bed and playing in her room.  Amelia was playing with one of her toy phones, we each “talked” on the phone and then I said what about Lila (we’re learning to take turns) so she walked over to Lila lifted her big floppy ear and put the phone up to her ear.  My kid is crazy smart.

This evening Dustin gave me a kiss on my knee and Amelia felt compelled to kiss the other knee.  She then proceeded to go back and forth between us giving kisses and when Dustin said “what about Lila” Amelia walked over knelt down putting her cheek on the floor and planted a big one on Lila’s nose.

I am simply amazed with everything that she can do these days.  She has well over a 100 words and talks constantly…wonder where she got it from?  She knows her body parts, she’s working on counting to 10 and can get to G in the alphabet and jumps around through the rest of it.  She also knows so many animals and their noises, I can’t count them all now.

I walked into the bathroom today and she was saying “up” and standing up and then “down” and squatting down…she was practicing the squats she sees mommy do almost daily.

She thinks that all noses make a noise.  Girl noses say “beep” and boy noses say “honk”…keep this in mind in case she ever squeezes your nose.

Elmo is still the be all and end all of her life.  She wakes up saying his name and goes to bed talking about him.  She watches Elmo in Grouchland almost every day because she asks for him and points at the TV so sweetly.

She’s obsessed with her sippy cup, it’s an awful addiction.  She walks around with it all of the time and she’ll let it hang from her mouth (by the straw) if she needs her hands free.  This is next on the “things we must break Amelia of” list.

We’re going in for Amelia’s 18 month…yes, 18 month check up next week.  She’s probably around 20.5-21 pounds and I am guessing about 32-32.5 inches.  I am looking forward to seeing what the doctor says about her growth…we’ve been watching it since she’s such a munchkin and her belly button as she has a little hernia and might need to have surgery to fix it.  I’ll update after her appointment.  For now here are two silly Amelia pictures.

Amelia and her Lila and Amelia just being silly and in mommy’s face, as usual.
