Amelia is now 15 months, holy cow where did the time go? She’s still a baby, but most of the time she seems so much older and more mature than 15 months…until she throws a tantrum, then I’m right back in the midst of toddlerdom. I know I am biased, but our kid is crazy smart…super brilliant I tell ya.
She has a zillion new words, let’s see of I can get them all down on (digital) paper. I am certain I’ll miss many, but these are the words she’ll use to tell you what she wants. She’ll pretty much try to say whatever you ask her to (if she’s in the mood).
cheese
milk (it’s not all juice-juice now)
down/up
yes (she mastered no around a year)
stairs
Lila (our puppy’s name)
Niner (Shiner…not the beer, my parents’ dog)
meow/kitty (what she calls our cat)
piggy (her Piglet that she sleeps with)
daddy/mommy instead of just dada/mama
go
hello
baby
hot
breakfast
food
snack
apple
happy
bellybutton
vitamin
table
ball
bubble
door
sky
pool
pee-pee (and now poo-poo)…yes she says it when she needs to go potty and it’s darn cute
night-night (which is a bed/crib or when she wants to go to bed)
potty (because she loves her pink potty)
ELMO, because he’s her best friend
Amelia’s nickname is Mimi (that’s what Keira calls her because she can’t say Amelia, sometimes she calls her Emmy) and now Amelia refers to Keira as Mimi, it’s so cute
The least endearing of Amelia’s new words is Elley (Kelley) and Dustin…she learned to say our names from listening to Keira…good times.
She’s even combing words together like “down mommy” (to get off of the bed), “mommy no” (when I’m kissing her too much), “happy apple” (whatever that means)
She’s also learning animal noises. She knows fish, horse, cat, dog and sheep and will sometimes play along and do others.
Amelia runs, throws balls, screams with excitement, plays chase (hard to get) and thinks she’s much, much bigger than she really is.
Amelia is still quite the munchkin and is weighing in somewhere around 20lbs. We’ll get her real stats tomorrow at her 15 month appointment and I’ll do an update then. We’ll also get a few shots which neither of us are looking forward to. She got her first 6 teeth when she was 8 months old and has only gotten 3 more since then, two molars at 13 months an more more two weeks ago. We’re expecting a few more to pop through soon.
We’re heading out of town without Amelia this Thursday for two days and it will be the first time we’ve been away from her over night. I am nervous and excited, more nervous though, I think. I’ll let you all know how it goes!
Amelia’s new cousin is coming in just a few weeks and we’re all so excited to meet the new baby girl! We just hope she doesn’t come later this week since Kevin, Dad and Keith will all be in Vegas and Dustin and I will be in Austin. Can you imagine my mom dealing with two toddlers and a woman in labor, eek!
I am trying, really I am to blog more. We’re in the midst of wedding season and keeping up with that work, session work and a 15 month old has me pooped by the end of the day. I am also trying to work out at least 3-4 times a week and thankfully I’ve been pretty good about it for the last few months. I’ve learned a LOT about the difference between thin and fit. I’ve been thin(ner), but I am more fit now that I was when I weighed 20lbs less. I am praying that the weight loss will come in time and when it does I will be one tough mama.
That’s all for now folks!
