GIRL! Yes, for those of you who are wondering, we have retired the idea of naming the baby Grover Von Loftis as it won’t suit our little girl. ![]()
I just need to state for the record that ring tests, pregnancy dreams, being drawn to gender specific clothing, a mother’s intuition and all other ‘Old Wives Tales’ don’t mean squat! I was convinced it was a boy and boy, oh boy was I wrong!
Our big ultrasound was this morning, but we actually found out the gender while we were in NY on vacation. My cousin, Amee had an ultrasound on July 21 and we went with her. We were laughing it up with the technician and having a great time and when we were leaving the technician asked if I knew our baby’s gender and if I wanted to know as she’d be happy to do a quick ultrasound ‘off the books’. Of course I said ‘YES, but only if my hubby can come in’. So I leaned out into the hallway to ask Dustin if he wanted to come take a look, he thought I meant to take a look at Amee’s baby. I said ‘no, do you want to know our baby’s gender?’ He jumped up and practically ran into the room. He had joked that morning about how cool it would be to find out the baby’s gender that day…to get a free ultrasound and know a bit sooner. The technician moved the wand around for a few seconds, commented on our baby being one of the most active she’d ever seen and she got the shot she needed…IT’S A GIRL! We had our ‘big’ ultrasound today (with our doctor) and they confirmed that she is indeed a girl and that she looks perfect. The tech commented many times on how active she is and told me that I am in trouble when we get to about 30 weeks. Some of the kicks already hurt a bit and they’ll only get stronger…eek! We apologize for not sharing the news with all of our family and friends over the last week, we wanted to share the news with the grandparents first and in person. Yea! It’s a girl!!!
