We all have good days and bad days.  Yesterday was a good day, a very good one indeed.  We FINALLY got an offer on our house and after brief negotiations we have a contract.  YAY! We close December 4, eek!

This afternoon we were milling about getting ready for the inspection to take place; vacuuming, picking up, etc.  As we were walking out the door we found that our handsome, lovable, friendly little Spencer kitty had passed away.  It was sudden, he wasn’t sick and we don’t know what happened.  We’re devastated.  He and Felicity are our ‘first’ babies.

We all said our goodbyes, even Amelia gave him one last snuggle.  One of her first words was cat because she loves her Spencer kitty so very, very much.  She learned to crawl by chasing his tail and perfected those skills by chasing him around the house.  I feel that Amelia first learned affection by chasing Spencer, tackling him and hugging him.  I am profoundly grateful for the love and patience he showed Amelia.

We had 8 wonderful years with Spencer and we wish that we could have had many more.  We’re so grateful for our time with him, but we will miss him terribly.

If you have a moment will you please say a prayer for us, that our contract will go through smoothly, that we’ll be able to pack and move easily in the 20 days that we have before closing and that our hearts will heal from the pain we’re feeling right now.

Love to all.  Please hug and kiss your kids, snuggle your cats and dogs and make sure they know you love them always.

So sorry to hear about Spencer.

Congratulations, though on the contract! I hope everything ends up going smoothly for you guys. Let us know if you need any help with Amelia during the move.

That’s so sad about your cat. Even though sometimes I threaten to kick our cat to the curb if he doesn’t stop pooping NEXT to the litter box, I know we would miss terribly if he were gone. Especially Kaelin, who calls him HER kitty when she’s burying her face in him.
