Ok, so I’m not the best at writing things down in Amelia’s baby book, that’s what this blog is for.  I am also not great about giving her credit when she does something, ie: crawling.  I think I waited too long to say it was official.  I guess I need someone other than myself or Dustin to see/hear it to make it official.

So…Amelia is saying her first words.  She says mama, dada, cats (it’s really a k and a s sound screached…too cute) and she says hi…all the time!

This phase in Amelia’s life is so rewarding.  She’s starting to develop so, so quickly.  She’s grasping new concepts such as turning lights on and off, turning a cup upside down and it drips, throwing something and it’s no longer near her; basically the concept of cause and effect.  She’s also learning to share her toys with other kids and her food/drink with mommy and daddy (she’s had sharing with Lila down for months).

I’ve been a bit sad lately about Amelia growing up too quickly, about her becoming a toddler too fast for me.  Then I see or hear her do something new and amazing and I can’t wait for the next thing she’ll do.  I’m starting to grasp what my parents mean when they said “we were holding you one minute and the next you were getting married”.  Slow down time, slow down…

On a whim I decided to get the camera out and see if she would say hi…and she did!
