So, we’ve started ’solids’ I use that term loosely because I think they’re all just squishy foods. Amelia LOVES her rice cereal; she kicks her legs, waves her arms and grabs at the spoon because she’s so excited to eat it. She actually chews her food so I know she’ll be ready for more solid things as soon as her little teeth start to appear.
Since we’ve been doing rice cereal for a few days I thought it was time to step things up a notch or two and introduce a new solid. And what better solid to introduce than something her mommy and daddy loathe…squash. Yes, I do taste test what I feel my kiddo and it’s pretty much icky, worse than the real thing (I’m a texture person).
The following pictures follow the sequence from “I’m excited because food is coming,” to “what the heck is this mommy,” to “BLECH!” to “ok, it’s not so bad if mommy makes funny faces at me and I spit most of it out.”
We’re sticking with squash for a few days for two reasons; I hope she’ll learn to love it and because I bought 4 jars and I’m the mommy and I said that she has to eat her vegetables.
