My dad told me a few weeks ago to watch Amelia closely, she’ll grow and learn so much in the next two months and he was so right!
When I lay her down she immediately rolls to one of her sides. She’s discovered that she’s more comfy that way, but she can also use her entire body when grasping her toys.
On 4/6 Amelia officially rolled over from tummy to back. What I mean by officially is that she’s done it before when she was much younger but this time was deliberate. She HATES tummy time so she flipped herself over. She was almost stunned by what she had done. Too cute!
She has a favorite toy now, actually two of them and they’re both lions, they just look different. Hopefully this is a good omen for the type of leader she’ll be.
She’s so much more social these days, she works to get a stranger’s attention and doesn’t mind being held by someone other than mommy or daddy. Though I really wish all of the little old ladies would keep their hands off of her! I don’t mind them touching her clothing, but please don’t touch her feet or hands…they’re in her mouth all of the time.
Yes, Amelia’s discovered that she has feet! She grabs at them and uses them to move the toys on her playmat, apparently moving 4 limbs at once makes more toys swing around, imagine that!
She plays peek-a-boo! It’s so fun to hear her giggle when she discovers where mommy went. We were playing peek-a-boo at the baseball game on Monday and her laughter and smiles drew attention from a couple 10 seats away. The husband just had to come over and meet her after that.
Thankfully she’s feeling better than she was earlier in the week and she’s back on her old sleeping schedule, goes down between 7-8 and gets up once after about 7 hours, eats for 20 minutes and then goes back down for 5 more hours. I guess she got the memo that mommy wasn’t thrilled with getting up 2-3 times at night.
We visited the pediatrician on Monday (4/7) and Amelia is officially 12lbs 10oz. I was convinced that she was closer to 14lbs by now…nope, she’s still a little munchkin. We’re enjoying watching our baby girl grow into a little person, now if only we could figure out how to slow it down a little bit!
